Job Duties

Purpose of Position:

To provide warehouse management and maintenance support for Facility buildings on Fort Pickett by sustaining warehouse organization, and stock. Also maintaining HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems as part of a comprehensive Facility Maintenance program.

This position is primarily for warehouse purposes such as receiving all items for facility’s, shipping items to the field, arrange pickups for facility personnel, controlling all material movements for the warehouse stock, organization, ordering and stocking items, moving equipment, disposing of unneeded equipment etc. This will also be performing facility maintenance management servicing, repairs and preventive maintenance functions on equipment such as water heaters, boilers, and refrigerant systems to include chillers as well as ventilation and plumbing systems.

Minimum Qualifications

Must have warehouse experience and some trade experience in at least one of the following: Carpentry, HVAC, Plumbing or Electrical;

Must be able to read drawings/blueprints;

A valid Driver's License and an acceptable driving record is required;

Essential physical and mental capabilities in the following: Interpersonal skills, memory, attention to detail, follow directions, comprehension, calculating, reading, writing, speaking, evaluating, mathematics, organizing and innovation;

Ability to use various ladders/lifts;

Ability to use various custodial and mowing equipment;

This position requires the ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.

Additional Considerations

Virginia Herbicide/Pesticide Certification preferred.
