About the Position:

The Virginia State Police (VSP) is seeking to hire an Employment Analyst in our Human Resources Division at our Administrative Headquarters in North Chesterfield, Virginia. The successful candidate will provide guidance, information, and personnel services in recruitment/selection, training, problem resolution, and customer service for the Agency’s managers, employees, and applicants and will administer cross training to other members of the Talent Acquisition & Employee Relations Section and develop desk procedures to ensure continuity of operations.

Minimum Qualifications

•Knowledge of the principles and practices of human resource management to include State and Federal laws related to recruitment and selection; and of standard office filing systems and procedures.
•Skill in the operation and use of a personal computer with Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint; in recruitment management systems to display and manage human resource and employment data; in data entry; and great customer service skills.
•Demonstrated ability to analyze, apply and interpret human resource policies, procedures, and guidelines; to conduct training; to communicate effectively, interacting and providing recommendations to all levels of management, employees, and applicants, orally and in writing; to prepare reports; to compose correspondence; to manipulate statistical data and use spreadsheets; to prioritize and manage multiple and competing priorities and tasks; to work in fast-paced environment; to work independently and as part of a team; and to process applicants through the entire pre-employment life cycle from initial applications to onboarding.
•High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

Additional Considerations

•Progressively responsible experience within a Human Resource environment, with emphasis on recruitment and selection is preferred.
•The use of Perceptive, OEBS, Cardinal, and PageUp experience is preferred.
