Job Duties

The Department of Human Resource Management (DHRM) is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented individual to serve as a Human Resource Assistant within our Shared Services Center (SSC), part of the Office of Human Resource Consulting Services. In this role, you’ll be part of a collaborative team that provides full-service HR support to 16 small state agencies. You’ll take ownership of processing all HR transactions for wage employees at our client agencies and play a key role in supporting the daily operations of the SSC team. Minimum Qualifications
Considerable experience as a Human Resource Assistant or in a relevant human resources/administrative position. Working knowledge of general Human Resource policies and procedures. Working knowledge of payroll practices and procedures. Demonstrated ability to effectively and appropriately work with sensitive and confidential data, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, coordinate multiple assignments and meet critical deadlines. Demonstrated ability to prioritize and perform a wide variety of administrative assignments and to effectively manage office activities. Demonstrated ability to prepare and compile reports. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff both orally and in writing. Experience with Cardinal Human Capital Management System (Cardinal HCM) or similar Human Resource Information System (HRIS). Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. High school graduate or equivalent.
Additional Considerations
Courses in Business, office practices and procedures, and automated business applications. State government experience. Experience in human resources for a government entity.
