The DGS Bureau of Facilities Management (BFM) within the Division of Capital Square Services (DCSS) is looking to hire a Housekeeping Worker to ensure a clean, safe, and healthy environment for tenants and visitors in the new General Assembly Building (GAB) in Richmond, Virginia.
This is a Quasi Full-Time position. This position’s schedule will be 30 hours per week Monday-Friday and increase during the General Assembly Session each year (January – April), up to 39.9 hours. Some weekend work may also be required for inauguration or other special events.

Minimum Requirements
- Current DGS employee.
- Knowledge and experience with cleaning tasks, techniques, materials, and equipment.
- Knowledge of public facility sanitation standards and safety practices in the use of cleaning chemicals and supplies.
- Ability to manage time effectively.
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
- Ability to perform manual labor; stand/walk for extended periods; routinely lift, push, or pull 20 pounds; and occasionally lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
Additional Considerations
- Knowledge and experience with cleaning techniques and methods for a wide variety of surfaces.
- Knowledge and experience with cleaning chemicals and industrial custodial equipment.
- Experience in stripping, waxing, and/or shampooing floors.
