VIB is seeking a VIB Assistant Supervisor- Norfolk ServMart to be responsible for the implementation of the goals and objectives of VIB by leading the day-to-day operations of the Norfolk ServMart team.


This position is responsible for:


• Supervision.
• Staffing.
• Procurement.
• Receiving.
• Stocking
• Inventory management.
• Merchandising.
• Transactional purchases
• Overall operational efficiency of the location. 

Other duties and/or special projects as assigned. Completes duties and/or projects as needed or directed by supervisor.

This is a subcontracted, commercial contract position.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have:

Knowledge/Experience -


• Supervisory or managerial experience.
• General Warehousing and or retail experience.
• Customer Service experience
• Independent decision-making experience
• Experienced with Point-of-Sale Systems.

Skills/Abilities-


• Ability to function in a fast paced, sometimes high-pressure environment.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication.
• Ability to operate a personal computer with or without adaptive technology.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Critical Thinking skills to be able to use logic and reason to identify alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
• Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritize competing business needs.
• Ability to listen and respond to customer service requests while maintaining accurate records.
• Able to lift and carry 30 to 50 pounds.
• Ability to bend and lift in a repetitive manner throughout the workday.
• Good manual dexterity.
• Able to stand for six to eight hours.
• Ability to perform duties independently without direct supervision.

This position is exempt from the Virginia Personnel Act and is otherwise known as non-classified.
