Job Duties

For more than three decades, the Virginia Lottery has worked to build a strong reputation, one synonymous with providing fun, entertaining experiences and doing so responsibly and with integrity. Proceeds from traditional Lottery games support K – 12 public education in Virginia. Taxes generated by sports wagering and casino gaming, which are regulated by the Lottery, benefit other priorities of the Commonwealth.


The Virginia Lottery, an independent state agency, is seeking an hourly Draw Show Associate to join its team. This position plays a critical role in supporting the Draw Show operations by ensuring accurate, efficient and compliance with policies.

The Draw Show Associate performs tests and rehearsals for the daily, nightly, and weekend draw shows. The Lottery conducts draw shows twice daily, 365 days a year, and are never cancelled (even due to inclement weather).

**This is an hourly, wage, non-exempt position without state benefits and limited to working no more than 1,500 hours in a 365-day period (May 1 – April 30). Hours for this position will vary depending upon workload and business need.**

This position will:
* Accurately record the ball sets chosen for the drawing and their average weights.
* Record the machines chosen for the draw show and their placement order.
* Record the seal numbers to replace the seals that were on the chosen ball sets.
* Conduct tests and rehearsals as needed and accurately record the results of those tests and draw show numbers.
* Accurately confirm the winning numbers given to the Data Center Representative by the Security personnel.
* Help ensure each ball set is returned to the correct container, is sealed, and the correct seal number is accurately recorded.
* Make sure all required information is accurately recorded.

This position may be scheduled up to 30 hours a month, with the following schedule:
Shifts: Monday – Sunday: 11:30am to 3:00pm OR 8:00pm to 12:00am.

Schedule flexibility is a must. Shift hours remain consistent. Scheduled days each month are subject to change.
Other duties may be required based on supplementary assignments

Minimum Qualifications

The person selected for this position will have:
* High School diploma or equivalent required.
* Proven ability to gather, and accurately document information.
* Must be able to work independently with low levels of supervision.
* Possess strong organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills. * Must have strong attention to details, be dependable, and flexible.
* Must be able to report to work as scheduled, even in inclement weather.
Draw show studio is currently located at 3301 W. Broad Street, Richmond, VA.

An equivalent combination of training and professional work experience may be substituted for minimum qualifications.

Additional Considerations

Additional considerations include:
* Minimum 2-5 years of experience in a fast-paced customer service business.
* Experience working for a state lottery.

The selected candidate must be able to complete a background investigation.
