Job Duties

The Virginia Department of Taxation seeks an efficient, effective, and professional leader to serve as a Warehouse Supervisor in the agency’s Tax Processing Office. The Warehouse Supervisor will lead staff and activities in a high volume, fast-paced, production environment within Warehouse Operations while ensuring that safety, policies & procedures are followed.

As a Warehouse Supervisor you will:

Support Document Production, Mail Services and Facilities operations.

Ensure the correct inventory of agency tax forms are available to distribute to localities and taxpayers

Administer the agency internal records storage while adhering to policies and procedures for purging and destruction.

Establish and maintain accurate inventory management records and work with purchasing to establish economic order quantities and reorder points for supplies, envelopes, forms and publications.

Develop and maintain spreadsheets that track a variety of stats and can be used to track production volume, resources, costs, etc.

The position is located at our Westmoreland Office in Richmond, Virginia. This position is an office position and requires 5 days in the office. It is not eligible for telework. 


The anticipated hiring salary is commensurate with experience up to $61,500.

Minimum Qualifications

Proven experience working in a high volume, fast paced, production environment

Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgement and demonstrate good decision-making skills

Experience with evaluating staff performance, coaching, training and mentoring

Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills

Considerable knowledge of records management, inventory control, shipping and receiving

Considerable knowledge and experience with mail handling, equipment, and postal procedures

Considerable knowledge of standard office practices and procedures


Additional Considerations

Forklift Certification is highly desired

Experience utilizing and maintaining Inventory Management software

Experience using UPS parcel shipping software

Proficient skill using Microsoft Word and Excel
