About the Position:

The Virginia State Police (VSP) is seeking to hire an Infrastructure and Cloud Engineering Manager in our Information Technology (IT) Division at our Administrative Headquarters in North Chesterfield, Virginia. The job duties for this position include but are not limited to:

• Leading the operational management and strategic transformation of the Department's infrastructure environment.
• Responsible for maintaining the reliability, performance, and security of core systems, including UNIX/Linux servers, enterprise databases, and networks, while guiding the Department’s transition to a modern cloud-first environment.
• Developing and leading the newly formed Cloud Engineering Team.
• Working closely with the Enterprise Cloud Architect to plan and execute migration strategies to OCI and explore AWS/Azure integration.
• Ensuring high availability and performance of legacy systems during the transition, while building the foundation for scalable, automated, and resilient cloud platforms aligned to Department goals.

• Managing large-scale modernization projects.
• Graduation from high school or equivalent.

Additional Considerations

• Prior experience working within the public sector or regulated environments and familiarity with Commonwealth of Virginia or VITA standards is preferred.
