Central State Hospital (CSH) is a 277-bed Joint Commission accredited psychiatric inpatient facility located in Petersburg, Virginia. Established in 1870, CSH holds the distinction of being the first psychiatric hospital in the nation dedicated to the treatment of African Americans. **Position Overview:**
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Pipe Shop Supervisor to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will provide supervision and technical guidance to foremen and technicians, requiring specialized skills and knowledge across various trades.

**Key Responsibilities:**
- Assign and supervise tasks that involve a substantial variety and complexity.
- Utilize mastery of skills in areas of specialization, particularly in plumbing and steam fitting.
- Adapt procedures, techniques, tools, materials, and equipment to meet special needs.
- Resolve complex problems and recommend improved methods and practices.
- Coordinate inspections with Federal, State, and Local authorities.
- Use sketches, diagrams, and blueprints to supervise installation, repair, and maintenance within the Physical Plant.
- Provide knowledge and assistance to foremen and technicians to ensure materials are ordered, inventoried, and installed efficiently.
- Supervise the installation of new equipment and devices as specified by the PPS Director and through the work order system.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

- Valid Virginia driver's license is required.
- Substantial experience in plumbing and steam fitting is required.

Additional Considerations

- Master Plumber license is preferred.
- Prior experience as a plumbing foreman or supervisor is preferred
