Job Duties
The Department of Corrections ensures public safety through the management of offender populations. Mission success is dependent upon managing a broad range of complex analytical issues involving multiple organizations, programs and managers inside and outside of the agency.
Oversee and direct special projects for the Division of Administration to include policy/procedure review and development, management of complex analytical assignments, grant management, development of operational efficiency measures for all units within the Division and creating and presenting oral and written reports as needed. Work in conjunction with the Corrections Administration Manager to support special projects/assignments for the Senior Deputy Director and others as requested.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma. Experience with project management practices, state government agencies, legislative process, criminal justice system, FOIA, and the use of performance measures in government. Knowledge of institutional/community operations. Comprehensive experience and knowledge of policy and procedure and experience in development and/or revision. Experience with research & evaluation processes. Knowledge of grant management. Competency to manage and complete multiple, high-quality projects on time using demonstrated organizational skills. Demonstrated experience using Excel in data analysis. Experience using presentation software and creating/integrating graphs & charts in reports. Demonstrated competency to communicate technical and general information in a highly effective manner to legislators, executives and agency employees. Demonstrated ability to communicate both orally and in writing in an effective manner. Experience using Microsoft programs to develop reports, charts, and graphs to convey technical information.
Additional Considerations
Experience in an adult correctional setting. Experience in analysis of performance measures, organizational development/strategic planning activities involving communication with the public or groups of employees both orally and in writing. Experience with Grant Management.
