Job Duties:
The Division for Services will provide a quality program of individualized rehabilitation services, educational consultation, technical assistance, and instruction that will empower eligible consumers to achieve their desired levels of independence consistent with their abilities and informed choices.
DBVI is seeking a Business Relations Specialist.
The purpose of this position is:
- Responsible for coordinating a statewide business development and marketing program in an assigned area for employers, career seekers, referral sources, and the community.
- Enhances understanding and promotes awareness of the Department and assists adults and students who are blind, deaf/blind and visually impaired reach their career objectives.
- Providing a direct link between services and employment opportunities with the business community, agency staff and career seekers.
Develop and update current training materials used for career readiness trainings to reflect current trends within workforce. Customize and update training materials used for business partner trainings based on their needs and desired subject matter. Assisting with event planning for business relations events held within the agency.
Minimum Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have:
Knowledge/Experience:
- Background in marketing, business development, human service or related field.
- Considerable executive level experience in developing prospects and implementing marketing strategies.
- Working knowledge of marketing concepts and promotional techniques.
- Knowledge of various software programs such as spreadsheet, word processing, desktop publishing, and database management as applicable to marketing program.
- Use of the Internet for the purpose of employment outcomes.
Skills/Abilities -
- Ability to establish effective working relationships among diverse professionals, constituents, and advocates.
- Demonstrated ability to write for professional and public audiences and conduct training.
Additional Considerations:
- Training in Business Management, marketing, or related field; or equivalent experience. Some knowledge of human service delivery systems and the vocational rehabilitation process.
