The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) serves as a strategic advisor and operational support to management and employees across various HR functions. This role plays a key part in fostering a positive and productive work environment by providing expert guidance on employee relations, performance management, ADA accommodations, talent acquisition, compensation, and career development.

The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), headquartered in Richmond, Virginia, serves approximately 6.2 million licensed drivers and ID card holders with over 8.4 million registered vehicles. In addition, DMV serves a wide array of businesses, including dealers, fuels tax customers, rental companies, driving schools, other state agencies, local governments, and non-profit organizations. DMV operates upon five fundamental core values: Trustworthiness, Respect, Accountability, Integrity, and Teamwork (TRAIT). Minimum Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state HR employment laws, regulations, and policies.
• Knowledge of principles and practices of HR program administration with expertise in employee relations and performance management.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Skill in providing good customer service and providing guidance and direction to employees and managers.
• Ability to make decisions independently in accordance with applicable federal and state laws, regulations, and policies.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with diverse audiences.
• Ability to identify issues, develop solutions, and make effective recommendations.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with the utmost discretion and strict confidentiality.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Additional Considerations

• Experience as an HR professional in a Commonwealth of Virginia agency.
