Job Duties
The Virginia Department of Taxation’s (Virginia Tax) Office of Customer and Taxpayer Services is seeking a highly analytical team member with a strong background to serve as a Tax Credits Analyst, which will perform a variety of analytical duties in support of Special Taxes and Services programs, services, projects, and initiatives for Tax Credit Administration.
In this role, you will:
Provide technical and analytical support by researching information, gathering data, reporting and statistics, maintaining databases, legislation implementation support, and resolving functional defects and issues associated with Advantage Revenue.
Perform specific duties based on the work unit assignment such as administer procedures, controls and data input into Tax Credit Bank to ensure accuracy and reliability of taxpayer credit balances.
The anticipated salary range is up to $55,000.00
This position is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule with 2 days remote and 3 days in office per week.
This position will be located in Richmond, Virginia at our Westmoreland location.

Minimum Qualifications
General knowledge of Virginia tax credits, tax returns, schedules, rules and regulations
Advanced analytical skills to research and gather data from inquiries within our proprietary accounting system, compile results, and solve problems, using a variety of research and analytical methodologies
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including demonstrated experience formulating extensive spreadsheets in Excel; and creating and maintaining databases and running queries in Access required
Basic knowledge of accounting concepts and principles
Strong organizational skills to include multi-tasking and prioritizing effectively
Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, and provide quality customer service for both internal and external customers
Ability to work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision
Ability to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment is essential
Additional Considerations
Familiarity, knowledge and experience with writing and running SQL queries
Working knowledge of the Integrated Revenue Management System or other accounting systems, software, or applications
Successful project management experience including meeting established deadlines
