Job Duties
The Office of Alumni Relations is an energetic program with the goal of reaching historic new levels of alumni involvement in the life of the University. The Associate Director of Alumni Relations will report to the Executive Director of Alumni Relations and will work within a collaborative office environment and share responsibilities for planning and implementing alumni engagement initiatives designed to foster lifelong connections between alumni and the university.
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge of alumni relations best practices regarding volunteer management, event planning, communications and database management: • Skill in managing one’s own time and the time of others; • Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail; • Ability to work under pressure and meet close deadlines; • Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines; • Ability to analyze and prepare documents, reports, and correspondence • Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion; • Ability to review work for accuracy; and ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent; • Experience in alumni relations, development, higher education, and event management; • Experience building and measuring success of programs; • Experience with volunteer coordination, public relations, marketing, or other client-centered professions; • Exceptional interpersonal skills; • Have the ability to communicate effectively; • Make progress on multiple tasks simultaneously; • Possess the ability to work autonomously; • Will be self-motivated; • Will work effectively with volunteers; • Will be proficient utilizing various software applications including Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook; • Will work cooperatively in a team environment with a diverse constituency; • Have a demonstrated commitment to quality customer service; and • Have the ability to travel and work evenings/weekends as necessary.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Master's degree; • Experience with Blackbaud alumni/development software or similar relational database experience; and • several years of professional experience in alumni relations, development, higher education, or a related area.
