Job Duties

The Special Registration Technician is responsible for processing specialized license plate applications, managing inventory of decals and license plates, reconciling financial transactions, and resolving Highway Use Fee disputes. This position plays a critical role in maintaining compliance with DMV policies and procedures while delivering high-quality service to customers and stakeholders.

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong attention to detail, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

*Process specialized license plate applications with accuracy and efficiency.
*Manage decal and license plate inventory, ensuring timely ordering, distribution, and record-keeping.
*Reconcile daily financial transactions related to special registrations and fee collections.
*Investigate and resolve Highway Use Fee disputes in accordance with DMV policies.
*Coordinate workflow with team members to ensure timely completion of registration tasks.
*Respond to customer inquiries and resolve escalated issues in a professional and courteous manner.
*Ensure compliance with all relevant DMV regulations, policies, and procedures.
*Maintain accurate documentation and records for audits and reporting purposes.
*Identify opportunities to improve processes and recommend solutions for operational efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications

• Knowledge of DMV systems, specialized registration processes, and inventory management tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills to manage high-volume processing.

• Familiarity with state regulations for license plate issuance, inventory management, and financial reconciliation.
