Job Duties
The Records Management & Information Specialist (RMIS) will compile policy information from various sources to create a comprehensive policy library. The RMIS will manage project plans to migrate records to a shared site on SharePoint, while developing and implementing a taxonomy for record classification. The incumbent will also assign metadata to records with the goal of creating a searchable SharePoint site, that serves as a repository for agency policy decisions, and archives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Document project requirements by meeting with stakeholders to identify business needs for new electronic library.
• Identify key metadata fields that will be searchable for documents in the new library.
• Manage a project plan to transition files from their existing location to the new library; emphasis should be placed on a methodical approach that does not disrupt business operations, and includes a methodology for maintaining the library in the future.
• Coordinate stakeholder meetings or outreach as needed.
• Effectively work with multiple internal departments and all levels of staff to move assignments forward.
• Develop a communications plan to inform staff on the project status, use of the library and retrieval of information.
• Other duties may be assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in library science, records and information management, business management or related field, required; an equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.
• Ensure compliant storage of electronic and/or physical records, while completing tasks such as classifying, storing, retrieving, and archiving documents.
• Ability to work within large information databases.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Proven analytical skills with superior problem-solving ability.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to follow established procedures, complete assignments within established deadlines, work well under pressure, conduct research, prioritize assignments, successfully manage time, and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel.
Additional Considerations
• Master's degree, preferred
• Ability to migrate files and tag for identified metadata, preferred
• Experience organizing libraries and creating links in SharePoint, preferred
• Previous experience working in the Public Sector, preferred

This is an hourly position with no benefits provided. The selected candidate will work a maximum of 29 hours per week, on average, but no more than 1500 hours total, over a one-year period (beginning May 1).
Currently, this position has a hybrid work schedule, working in the office two days (Tuesdays and Wednesdays) and working remotely three days (Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays). January 2026: The hybrid work schedule will include three days on-site Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays), and working remotely two days (Mondays and Fridays). The selected candidate must be able to work in the office any day of the week as required by the manager.
