Job Duties:
The Data Quality Analyst (DQA) reports to the agency’s Data Officer. As a member of the Data Office, this individual is responsible for improving and maintaining the quality, accuracy and completeness of VRS data, across all agency systems. The incumbent will help support enterprise-wide data governance efforts, validate records, perform data lookups, resolve discrepancies and ensure ongoing data integrity. Other responsibilities include: leading validation processes, training and supporting wage staff, interface with other departments in the agency to complete data stewardship projects, and managing data governance activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Establish and maintain a robust governance framework, including clear roles and responsibilities for data management.
- Develop strategies to communicate essential data validation information to VRS stakeholder groups, including documenting SOPs for maintenance of data.
- Provide data management expertise and guidance to agency departments, including directions to ensure consistent and accurate data handling compliant with VRS policies and standards.
- Analyze complex data quality issues reported by business units or flagged on dashboards.
- Communicate critical data integrity issues and mitigation plans to relevant stakeholders.
- Execute data correction activities in collaboration with and under the direction of the Data Officer.
- Use internal and third-party tools to perform data lookups, comparisons and validations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in statistics, mathematics, computer science, data management, business analytics, information systems or related field, required; a combination of equivalent education and experience may also be considered; master’s degree preferred.
- Five years of demonstrated data governance, data stewardship, data quality, data validation business operations or data management experience.
- Experience developing standard operating procedures (SOPs) to communicate essential information, accompanied by excellent verbal and writing abilities.
- Experience working with spreadsheets, data entry tools, data quality tools and databases, such as SQL.
- Previous supervisory experience.
- Proficiency with MS Office, desktop publishing technology, email software, and analytical tools.
Additional Considerations:
- Master's degree in related field, preferred.
- Three or more years of previous supervisory experience, preferred.
- Previous experience using SharePoint, & SQL preferred.
- Public sector experience, preferred.

Currently, this position has a hybrid work schedule - requiring work in the office two days per week, and work remotely three days per week. The selected candidate must be able to work in the office any day of the week as required by the manager. *Beginning January 2026 the hybrid schedule will require work in the office three days per week (T, W, TH), and work remotely two days per week (M, F).
