The Virginia Information Technologies Agency (VITA) is excited to offer a competitive opportunity to serve as the Cloud Services Manager in the Infrastructure Services Division.

The Virginia Information Technologies Agency (VITA) is the Commonwealth’s consolidated information technology organization. We are seeking a customer-centric Cloud Services Manager who can align their experience with the agency’s mission and its core values: accountability, inclusive collaboration, growth mindset, effectiveness, and persistence.

This position will support the Enterprise Cloud Oversight Process and other cloud initiatives with Enterprise Services as necessary to ensure appropriate oversight and compliance of cloud solution providers.

Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Responsible for supporting delivery initiatives of cloud-hosted services.

Reporting to the Platform Director, this position will work with VITA suppliers to review, oversee, and provide direction on cloud-based initiatives with direct oversight of the projects, operations, technical solutions and procedures required to be implemented to support.

Collaboration with the Security and Architecture teams to ensure security of the Cloud services environments.

Candidate should possess necessary leadership skills to drive the efficient delivery of solutions via the Service Portfolio Lifecycle process, and will be responsible for conducting architecture reviews of cloud services and proposed architecture or services changes.

Review projects associated with cloud and hosting services proposed by the tower suppliers that are used by VITA and the executive branch agencies of the Commonwealth for security compliance validation.

Assists in recommending secure options to meet business needs.

Support oversight of SaaS providers as well as oversight of the operations of our infrastructure provider team(s) managing an enterprise AWS/Azure/OCI/GCP environment.

Ensure that management is actively informed of hosted/cloud operational activities.

Minimum Qualifications

Competitive candidates will meet these minimum qualifications:

Documented experience with cloud architecture, operations and management in a public cloud environment.

Experience performing reviews of proposed changes & projects relative to the security of an IT environment.

Experience in the development and presentation of Cloud information security & architecture, Cloud policies, standards and procedures.

Experience in monitoring IT environments for compliance with information security architecture policies and standards.

Excellent communication and presentation skills required.

Must be proficient with the Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and acquire new skills/knowledge to meet customer needs.

Thorough understanding of customers priorities and the business criticality of platforms, applications, and services.

Comprehensive experience in industry.

A self-starter who can excel in a team environment of an aggressively growing and dynamic enterprise.

Demonstrated ability to bring problems to resolution regardless of diversity and level of seniority of those involved.

Azure, AWS or other public cloud deployment and support knowledge required.

Must have strong hands-on data center and IT infrastructure architecture and design experience.

Experience managing key vendor relationships with demonstrated benefits to the business through strong relationship management.

Skilled in oral and written communication as it pertains to technical information.

Skilled in interpreting complex information and providing informed analysis.

Proven ability to lead and manage teams and projects.
