Job Duties

Virginia Energy is in search of a qualified candidate to ensure the safe, efficient, and effective operation of building systems and infrastructure. This role supports day-to-day facility operations, maintenance, and safety compliance.

This role will:
• operate and maintain HVAC systems according to manufacturer and Virginia Energy
policies and procedures
• inspect and maintain fire and safety standards for Agency owned buildings
• manage grounds maintenance contracts, procurement and facility operations
• manage parking lot maintenance during adverse weather conditions
• serve as safety officer on the Safety and Security Team

Minimum Qualifications

• Knowledge of operation and maintenance of electronically controlled coal fired and propane pressurized boilers, chillers and associated equipment.
• Knowledge of building maintenance, trades, mechanical, electrical and plumbing.
• Ability to evaluate the work of contractors.
• Skills in operating test equipment, motorized equipment and power tools.
• HVAC Training or Certifications from an accredited vocational or trade school or community college.
