Job Duties
NVMHI is a 134-bed inpatient state psychiatric facility, serving individuals from across the Commonwealth of Virginia. We are seeking transportation coordinators to provide discharge transportation back into the community once individuals are determined to be ready to discharge. An ideal candidate will be comfortable working with individuals with serious mental illness, communicating with treatment teams and community providers, and driving and operating state vehicles. The primary responsibility of the transportation coordinator will be to drive individuals to their discharge placements and ensure safe transportation. This will include coordination with the patient, hospital staff, and discharge placement. Other duties to maintain vehicle operations and to promote discharge readiness may be assigned as needed. The schedule for these positions are Monday-Friday 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. & 10 p.m. - 6:30 a.m.
Minimum Qualifications
Current state motor vehicle operator's license required.
Considerable skill in use of personal computer (Microsoft Office Suite; Google Mail).
Ability to maintain confidentiality related to patient information and administrative issues as required.
Ability to organize, manage, prioritize work and make independent decisions. Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills.
