Job Duties

The Office of the Deputy Director of Community Corrections promotes and maintains a safe, secure, and supportive environment for staff and clients by providing professional and timely guidance and support to operational units through the use of evidence-based practices and data-driven management, with the goal of enhancing public safety and reducing recidivism.

The Project Manager provides project leadership and support to the Deputy Director of Community Corrections. This position is responsible for managing complex projects that support the implementation and improvement of programs, policies, and operations across the division. Duties include gathering and analyzing data; conducting system and process analyses; developing and presenting findings through written reports, briefings, and PowerPoint presentations; and ensuring that results are communicated clearly, transparently, and ethically.

The Project Manager will lead and coordinate special projects; collaborate effectively with field operations, probation and parole offices, and central office staff; and provide guidance to ensure alignment with agency and division goals. The position represents the Deputy Director on committees and workgroups as needed and works closely with the Statistical Analysis and Forecasting Unit.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent. Extensive knowledge and experience with community corrections operations, probation and parole practices, and evidence-based approaches to offender rehabilitation and recidivism reduction. Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills with demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional project teams and build consensus among diverse stakeholders. Experience collecting and analyzing data, developing work plans, tracking project milestones, and reporting progress and outcomes.
Proven ability to identify system needs, conceptualize projects to improve operations and outcomes, and successfully manage projects from inception to completion. Experience interpreting and applying data reports and performance measures to inform project decisions. Ability to write clear, concise reports and summarize complex information for a variety of audiences. Knowledge of corrections policies, procedures, and legislative processes. Willingness to travel throughout the Commonwealth as needed.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in both group and individual settings.

Additional Considerations

Project Manager “PMP” Certification. Experience with project management software or data visualization tools.
