Job Duties:
Wilson Workforce and Rehabilitation Center (WWRC) is seeking a Nurse Supervisor
The Nurse Supervisor will provide leadership and oversight to nursing staff, ensuring high-quality care for residential participants and compliance with established standards.
Key Responsibilities The individual in this position will:

Coordinate and monitor services and resources to meet clients’ health care needs

Provide direct supervision to assigned licensed nursing staff

Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of residential participants requiring routine medical care

Develop nursing care plans and diagnoses, collaborating with outside providers as needed

Oversee client care in Student Health and Medical Holding Dorm rooms as required
-
Lead nursing care initiatives and respond effectively to emergency situations to minimize harm and restore safety

Serve as a role model, mentor, and resource for nursing staff while managing clinic operations

Direct activities, provide work assignments, and supervise RNs, LPNs, and support staff

Prepare monthly staffing schedules, ensuring equitable distribution of staff across shifts to meet care demands

Act as a consultant and provide education to the WWRC leadership team

Assist in developing, implementing, and evaluating clinical policies, procedures, and standards of care

Ensure adherence to nursing policies, procedures, and protocols in all aspects of practice

Supervise and delegate the medical chart review process equitably
-
Review and verify staff compliance with licensing requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
• Knowledge of and skills in applying the principles and practices of nursing
• Skills in assessing symptoms of physical illness and psychosocial problems, administrating medications and performing nursing treatments
• Ability to assess complex and emergency clinical situations, critically analyze problems and develop plans demonstrating application of good judgment
• Effective verbal and written communication skills, competence in basic computer program navigation
• Ability to teach, guide and mentor other nurses, students, unlicensed staff and members of the therapeutic team • Ability to function in a leadership/supervisory role and form productive working relationships with assigned staff and administration
• Ability to work effectively as a team member or leader with Center staff, clients and referral sources Education,
Experience, Licensure, Certification Required for Entry into Position:
• Virginia licensure as a Registered Nurse or eligibility to obtain
• BLS certification or eligibility to obtain within one month of employment
• Previous experience working in primary care desirable
• Experience working with an interdisciplinary team preferred
• Previous experience in a rehabilitation environment is desirable
• Previous experience working in a school or residential educational environment highly
desirable
• Adequate documented, successful supervisory experience
