Job Duties
The Licensing Program Support Technician is responsible for performing advanced administrative support or technical program assistance work related to the licensing of either child welfare agencies or adult programs. This position will provide support to the Division of Licensing Programs including internal staff and external parties.
Duties will include: processing of licensure applications and fees, receives and responds to all communication regarding division and adult programs inquiries, questions, and concerns, provides program specific information as requested by the general public, facilities and providers, provides reception to walk-in visitors and supports the adult programs licensure training program.
Minimum Qualifications
Advanced knowledge of administrative and clerical office procedures with basic financial practices
Advanced Microsoft Office experience, including Excel, skill in operating office machines, automated information systems and databases and Adobe Pro
• Demonstrated ability to collect, analyze, organize, and document a variety of information/data
• Ability to effectively organize and complete multiple work tasks independently
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations, both orally and in writing, and work collaboratively and cooperatively with others
• Ability to resolve conflict in a positive way
• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality
• Works collaboratively, constructively, and timely to support supervisors, co-workers, and customers in the completion of assignments, process improvement, and problem resolution
This position requires in-office work at the VDSS home office in Glen Allen, Va.
Additional Considerations
Experience providing administrative support to operational teams in a human services environment.
Experience providing administrative support for a Virginia State organization and/or social service environment.
