The Division of Business Operations’ State Disbursement Unit (SDU) is currently seeking a Financial Services Technician Senior. This position is responsible for reviewing and processing financial transactions and associated records such as Revenue Refund Vouchers, Inter-Agency Transfers (IAT’s), and Agency Transfer Vouchers (ATV’s) to ensure they are in compliance with the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other State and Federal laws, policies, procedures and requirements. The position also assists with processing Unidentified Payments, Unclaimed Property, Returned Checks, Refund Due Diligence and work with the Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT) Unit to obtain the goal of increasing the annual percentage of electronic payment processing. Promotes MY CHILD SUPPORT (MCS) automation to employers and non-custodial parents (NCP) and provide direct support to the Division of Business Operations, State Disbursement-Reconciliation and Exceptions Unit as well as Divisions/Units within the State Programs portfolio as necessary.
Minimum Qualifications
Demonstrated ability to research, analyze and enter fiscal transactions for conformity and procedures and regulations.
Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), unit policies and procedures.
Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply state and federal policies and procedures.
Demonstrated ability to prepare financial reports, statements, and reconciliation.
Experience with Microsoft Office (i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams).
Experience working with automated financial/accounting systems.
Proficient and experienced in use of personal computers, including financial/accounting databases, spreadsheets, graphics, charts, and word processing.
Demonstrated ability to evaluate current work processes and make recommendations for greater efficiency.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with coworkers, managers as well as eternal and division staff.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Additional Considerations
Experience in accounting, auditing, bookkeeping, debt collection.
Considerable experience in reconciliation, government accounting and with financial/accounting systems.
Experience working with statewide financial or accounting systems such as FAAS, CARS, Cardinal, Oracle Financials, PeopleSoft.
Experience in a Child Support Enforcement or government agency with extensive knowledge of preparing financial reports.
