Job Duties
The Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) is excited to offer a competitive opportunity to serve as the Rural Health Transformation Community Engagement Lead. The selected competitive candidate will provide exceptional delivery of services to the Director's Office.
Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
The Community Engagement Lead will serve as the lead in planning and facilitating public forums, conducting stakeholder outreach, coordinating media relations, and supporting the development of written communications and reports. The incumbent will drive the development and execution of proactive communication and outreach strategies that support RHT priorities and enhance stakeholder engagement. The incumbent will track project deadlines and make sure they are met; gather community input and maintain strong relationships and active dialogue with stakeholders; and ensure efficient execution of high-quality written deliverables when assigned.
This is a restricted position, which is solely funded by the investment of federal grant funds to transform Virginia’s rural health care landscape and improve health outcomes in rural Virginia. Which is a continuous revolving grant. The availability of funding is scheduled for review annually. Continued employment is contingent on the continued availability of funds.
The business needs for this position have in office requirements to include but are not limited to requiring travel overnight (intra- and inter-state) for meetings, conferences and/or trainings several times per year. The incumbent will represent DMAS with internal and external stakeholders to develop and maintain public and private partnerships to ensure positive program outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications
Competitive candidates will meet these minimum qualifications:
Considerable experience managing resources for the implementation of public engagement.
Considerable experience in editing and proofreading.
Considerable experience facilitating meetings.
Considerable experience with digital content and platforms.
Considerable experience with computer software including Microsoft Office.
Considerable experience interpreting and applying federal and state laws/regulations.
Considerable experience meeting deadlines.
Considerable experience engaging with internal/external stakeholders.
Additional Considerations

Considerable experience interpreting complex health or policy-related topics.
Considerable experience of state government structure and operations.
