Job Duties
Administers occupational therapy treatment programs as develop/specified. Prepares clients and delivers treatments, performs OT evaluations and re-certifications; develops OT treatment plans and makes modifications as needed, monitors and maintains adaptive equipment. Documents client’s status adhering to Federal, State and Facility guidelines. The employee should possess; knowledge of occupational therapy and developmental disabilities; ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; ability to interact in a professional manner with clients, staff, families and community personnel. Ability to use Computer application software. Ability to lead and coordinate work of the rehab. department, and cross-functional departments as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Completion of requirements for a Bachelors Degree in occupational therapy from an accredited education program and must be licensed or eligible to practice in Virginia as an Occupational Therapist.
Experience with neurologically involved, developmentally disabled patients is beneficial. Previous professional occupational therapy experience in a long term care or adult geriatric setting preferred.
