Job Duties
The Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) is excited to offer a competitive opportunity to serve as the Children's Health Program Analyst in the Health Care Services Division.
Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
The primary purpose of this role is to provide subject matter expertise and programmatic support to DMAS child health-related policies and programs that impact member access to effective, member-centric health care services.
This includes DMAS implementation of Medicaid's early and periodic screening, diagnostic and treatment (EPSDT) benefit and related policies and programs, including Virginia's Early Intervention Program.
The incumbent will provide leadership to MCO's in their implementation of DMAS' policies and programs, including new initiatives and improvements, that impact children's access to effective, member-centric healthcare services.
The business needs for the position have in office requirements to include but are not limited to travel, including overnight travel (intra and inter-state) for meetings, conferences and/or trainings several times per year.

Minimum Qualifications
Competitive candidates will meet these minimum qualifications:
Considerable knowledge of EPSDT and other children's health-related Medicaid benefits, programs and policies, including those that maximize preventive and wellness care.
Knowledge of technical and systems aspects of the Virginia Medicaid system or similar system.
Experience using procedures and processes to review and summarize data.
Experience in planning, developing, implementing and monitoring the effectiveness of Medicaid programs, policies or operations.
Considerable experience utilizing word processing, spreadsheet, presentation software/applications.
Considerable knowledge in interpretation and application of federal, state laws/regulations.
Experience meeting deadlines.
Considerable experience with internal/external stakeholders, including preparing and giving presentations, and leading collaborative efforts.
Additional Considerations
Competitive candidates should meet these additional considerations:
Experience with Medicaid managed care organizations.
Experience in provider or MCO compliance oversight.
Experience with an organization that provides health/behavioral health services to children with Medicaid.
