Job Duties
Virginia Energy is seeking a qualified candidate to assist with the production of geologic maps, geodatabases, and reports that support planning and construction projects, economic development, and the mitigation of geologic and environmental hazards.
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge of geologic field mapping techniques, petrology, stratigraphy, structural geology, and geomorphology.
Ability to use personal computers and software programs such as Microsoft Office Suite in a Windows environment.
Demonstrated ability to create and edit geologic data using ArcGIS Pro.
Ability to work independently and as a team member, pay attention to detail, and complete assignments within established timeframes.
Ability to work in the field, navigate over rough terrain (i.e., stoop, crawl, and bend), and carry up to 30 pounds of equipment and samples.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
A valid driver’s license.
