Join our team as an IT Program Support Coordinator (Wage) to provide essential support for IT operations, including procurement, telecommunications, and administrative tasks. This dynamic role ensures smooth IT processes and serves as a backup for special telecom projects at WWRC.
Job Duties:
"Telework for this position is limited in accordance with the Commonwealth’s telework policy. The selected candidate must report in person to the DARS Central Office for a minimum of six months without exception. This is a wage (part-time) position, averaging 35 hours per week and not exceeding 1,500 hours within the employment year. Please note that this position does not include health insurance, retirement benefits, or paid leave".
The Information Technology Division (ITD) provides information technology services to functional programs of the Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services (DARS). In addition, via memorandum of agreement (MOA), ITD provides technology services to the Disability Services Agencies (DSA), which include the Wilson Workforce and Rehabilitation Center (WWRC), Department for the Blind and Vision Impaired (DBVI), the Virginia Rehabilitation Center for the Blind and Vision Impaired (VRCBVI), the Department for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (VDDHH), and the Virginia Board for People with Disabilities (VBPD). These technology services are provided in support of the DSA’s strategic goals, objectives and initiatives.
We are seeking an IT Program Support Coordinator (Wage) to provide comprehensive support for IT operations, including telecommunications, inventory management, license administration, procurement, and other IT administrative tasks. This role also serves as a backup to the Telecom Special Project Agent at WWRC.
Key Responsibilities:
- IT Procurement: Coordinate procurement of IT products and services, manage related tasks and documentation, obtain vendor quotes and approvals, and process requests using the eVa system.
- Telecommunications: Support and manage mobile and office telecom devices, process requests using COV applications (TDM and TEBS), and assist staff with telecom-related issues.
- Administrative Support: Maintain IT data and reports, ensure accuracy and version control, prepare and proofread documentation, and act as liaison between IT and internal/external stakeholders.
Other duties and/or special projects as assigned.
Completes duties and/or projects as needed or directed by supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have:
Knowledge/Experience:
- Training or commensurate work experience in Information Systems, Information Technology and Telecommunications.
- Considerable knowledge and experience with IT operations, supporting business and enterprise IT systems, telecommunications, customer support and procurement.
Skills/Abilities:
- Effectively communicate information (both verbally and in writing), to support daily operations and interact with all levels within the DSA in a positive and cooperative manner.
- Collaborates and builds relationships with internal and external partners and possesses the ability to coordinate and execute the assigned tasks and objectives.
