Job Duties

NVHMI is seeking an experienced Food Service Manager I to oversee daily operations and lead a team of approximately 18 food service employees. This role ensures high quality meal production, accurate dietary service, and compliance with food safety and sanitation standards. This individual will manage inventory, ordering, and staff assignments while maintaining up to date recipes, diet orders, and production records. Responsibilities include monitoring meal preparation, conducting sanitation inspections, and ensuring all equipment and food safety logs are maintained. The manager also trains new staff, reviews performance expectations, promotes safe work practices, and supports departmental goals and values.

Minimum Qualifications

• Strong ability to plan and organize food production tasks.
• Knowledgeable in nutrition, sanitation standards, and food safety.
• Experience in supervising food service staff required.
• Experienced in food preparation techniques.
• Demonstrated computer skills required.

Additional Considerations

• Servsafe Food Service manager certification (must be obtained within 60 days of employment)
• Culinary training is preferred.
• Skilled in the operation and care of kitchen equipment.
• Familiar with budget management and food service procurement.
• Experience with food service software.
