Job Duties

The Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the Community Federal Funds Coordinator position. This is a highly complex position that requires the ability to lead critical stakeholders internal to DBHDS, external to Virginia Government, and other governmental agencies. This position will provide strong leadership, management, and direction related to several critical processes and projects that will greatly impact both programmatic and fiscal functions internal and external to the agency; support the Department’s efforts to implement the changes, updates, and order to Community Divisions Strategic Goals as well as agency expectations; work collaboratively with leadership, Office and Division heads, and develop plans to address TA needs within and external to DBHDS. This is a restricted, federal grant funded position with a renewable grant. However, this position is not eligible for layoff benefits per DHRM state policy 1.30. Continued employment in this position beyond the stated end date is contingent upon funding.

Minimum Qualifications

• Knowledge of national standards and models of BH access, including STEP VA in concept, certification requirements, and operations.
• Experience with leading, directing, and/or managing high-priority projects with diverse groups of stakeholders in a high-pressure environment.
• High level communication skills including verbal and written modalities.
• Experiencing with planning and execution of stakeholder communication planning.
• An understanding of Organization Change Management goals and an ability to work in support of a change management program.
• Ability to identify, qualify, and escalate risks to project delivery, dependencies for project success, and other standard project management functions.
• Ability to communicate effectively with tactical program teams, as well as executive leadership.

Additional Considerations

• Knowledge and experience with behavioral health service delivery in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• Knowledge of the publicly funded behavioral health system in Virginia.
• Experience in the public behavioral health system either as a clinician, provider, professional or as an operational leader with responsibility for service delivery lines.
• Experience leading or managing high-visibility, high-priority initiatives, and managing project teams.
• PMI or similar certification
