Job Duties:
Wilson Workforce and Rehabilitation Center (WWRC) is seeking a wage, part‑time Staff Occupational Therapist. This position will provide direct client service delivery, including comprehensive and specialized evaluations, treatments, and consultation for adults (aged 18 and older) with neurologic, orthopedic, and developmental disabilities. The therapist serves as part of an interdisciplinary team to help clients develop, improve, or restore independent living and vocational potential, and educates families or other appropriate individuals.
Written/Verbal Communication:
Completes documentation in accordance with professional therapy standards, facility policies and procedures, regulatory boards/third‑party payers, and WIOA objectives. Ensures appropriate coverage when needed. Participates with the therapeutic team in case conferences to establish, revise, and monitor progress toward client goals. Maintains records of direct and indirect service delivery.
Professional Education/Development:
Identifies learning needs and develops a plan with the supervisor to maintain and update professional competencies and knowledge through literature review, in‑service education, clinical inquiry, and continuing education, integrating new information into practice. Participates in educational presentations or clinical research projects to enhance professional growth for self, other staff, or to increase community awareness.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Demonstrated knowledge and clinical skills relevant to rehabilitation therapy services.
• Ability to administer occupational therapy treatments, including assistive technology & ADL training.
• Advanced knowledge of principles and practice of OT techniques.
• Skills in planning, developing and supervising a rehab service.
• Ability to work effectively as a team member or leader with professional personnel, case managers, clients/customers and referral sources.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification Required for Entry into Position:
• Degree in Occupational Therapy (B.S., or Masters).
• Licensed Occupational Therapist or eligible for Virginia licensure.
• Clinical experience as a licensed Occupational Therapist
• Valid Virginia driver’s license
