Job Duties
The individual in this position is responsible for the clinical supervision of Virginia Department of Corrections (VADOC) Mental Health Services (MHS) staff at designated community sites, consistent with contemporary mental health care and correctional standards. To provide clinical supervision, consultation, direction, and training to mental health services staff and to monitor the quality and effectiveness of mental health services for the assessment and treatment of sex offenders provided to inmates in correctional settings.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent. Thorough working knowledge of psychological assessment and treatment modalities. Thorough working knowledge of principles and practices of supervision. Knowledge of treatment program design and evaluation, quality assessment, implementation, and evaluation. Skill in working with professional and paraprofessional staff. Demonstrated ability to supervise and to work with multidisciplinary staff. Ability to develop and implement mental health services programs and quality assessment programs. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Ability to complete the Virginia Ethics Council Conflict of Interest (COI) filing within two (2) business days of hire and annually thereafter, in accordance with the Code of Virginia § 2.2-3100.
Ability to complete COI training within two (2) months of hire and every other year thereafter, as required by Code of Virginia § 2.2-3132.
Additional Considerations
Licensed as a mental health professional and/or certified as a service provider with specialty in sex offender assessment and treatment. Supervisory experience and experience in correctional, forensic, mental health or other institutional setting.
