Job Duties

The Information Technology Unit provides technology planning and support to the Department to help ensure the successful accomplishment of the Department of Corrections mission.

To provide technical expertise to ensure the reliable, secure, and efficient operation of the Department of Corrections IT infrastructure while aligning technology services with business objectives. This position is responsible for ensuring that all core infrastructure platforms including video, networks, agency data centers, cloud services, servers, and end-user computing operate efficiently, securely, and in alignment with the Commonwealth and DOC policies and standards. Develop infrastructure strategies, implement security controls, lead and develop technical teams, manage service providers. Evaluate the cost, value, and risk of technology investments to provide strategic recommendations to senior management.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience leading and managing enterprise IT infrastructure operations, including networks, servers, cloud platforms, video operations, DOC data centers, storage, and telecommunications. Experience developing and executing infrastructure strategy aligned with organizational goals. Ensure availability, performance, security, and reliability of all infrastructure systems. Oversee cybersecurity controls, compliance requirements, and risk mitigation in partnership with information security leadership. Experience with direct cloud and hybrid infrastructure environments, vendor relationships, and service-level agreements. Lead, mentor, and develop infrastructure teams. Oversee disaster recovery and business continuity planning and testing. Manage infrastructure related projects, upgrades, and technology implementations. Collaborate with executive leadership and business units to deliver scalable, secure technology solutions.

Additional Considerations

Knowledge of secure facility network segmentation and physical security integration.
Experience managing infrastructure across geographically dispersed and restricted access locations.
