Job Duties
Position performs electric arc, gas and braze type welding for multi-facility complex. Included in this is mig/tig welding as situation warrants as well as water and steam line and flat welding. Supervises inmates as set forth by institutional guidelines. Instructs as well as oversees inmate labor in the performance of welding related duties. Ensures that inmate workers are familiar with equipment being used as well as safety requirements associated with equipment. Ensures that required safety procedures are being followed at all times. Prepares and turns in inmate work time as required by guidelines.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent. Knowledge of the welding trade. Demonstrated skill in the use of Microsoft Office Programs and Outlook.
Additional Considerations
A certificate from trade school in welding applications. Ability to supervise or train others in welding. Skilled in the use of various types of welding machines and applications as well as hand and power tools. Ability to read and interpret plans and schematics as related to welding.
