Job Duties
Talent acquisition / sourcing, attending job fairs as well as hosting them onsite
Recruitment- Some knowledge of state recruitment and selection process
Candidate Screening
Experience conducting background, reference checks and drug screens
Assisting with orientation of new hires as needed
Ability to communicate effectively with the public, state officials, and employees
Ability to independently correspond and communicate
Ability to handle multiple time sensitive assignments at the same time
Knowledge of proper grammar, spelling and punctuation
Ability to maintain effective working relationships; collect, compile, and analyze information and apply laws, policies, and procedures
Experience in the operation of HR computer programs to include all Microsoft Office programs, applicant tracking systems, and time clock management
Working knowledge of state benefits and policies
Knowledge of Workers Compensation and other various types of state benefits such as FMLA, VSDP and LTD
May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or Equivalent
1 Year of experience working in functional areas of Human Resources, or in an administrative support role required
Strong recruitment experience required
Must have strong knowledge of recruitment practices
