Job Duties
The Testing Center Support Specialist ensures the secure, efficient, and compliant administration of exams while supporting the day-to-day operations of the Testing Center. This role maintains testing integrity, provides a professional environment for candidates, and performs administrative and clerical duties to support both candidates and the Testing Center Coordinator.
-Administer and proctor exams according to testing vendor policies and procedures (e.g., Pearson, Praxis, CLEP)
-Maintain required certifications and ensure compliance with all vendor and institutional requirements
-Monitor test candidates throughout sessions to ensure security, integrity, and adherence to rules
-Perform check-in and check-out procedures in accordance with vendor-specific guidelines
-Troubleshoot and coordinate with testing vendors to resolve technical issues
-Prepare, organize, and maintain all testing materials and supplies for daily operations
-Maintain a clean, organized, and secure testing environment, including sanitizing and storing materials
-Safeguard the confidentiality of test candidates, materials, and documentation
-Perform clerical and administrative tasks, including filing, scanning, copying, and document preparation
-Collect, process, and file candidate paperwork accurately and in a timely manner
-Assist the Testing Center Coordinator with daily operations and special projects as needed
Minimum Qualifications
-High school diploma or equivalent
-Experience in administrative support, customer service, or a testing/educational environment
-Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general computer systems
-Ability to follow detailed procedures and maintain testing security and confidentiality
-Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
-Ability to communicate effectively with candidates, staff, and external vendors
-Ability to obtain and maintain required testing vendor certifications
-Ability to pass required background checks
Additional Considerations
-Associate’s degree or higher
-Prior experience in a testing center or with computer-based testing systems
-Familiarity with testing vendor platforms (e.g., Pearson, Praxis, CLEP)
-Experience troubleshooting basic technical issues in a computer lab or testing environment
-Strong customer service experience in a fast-paced or high-compliance setting
-Experience with data entry, records management, and document processing
-Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities
