Job Duties

The Wage/Part-Time House Supervisor/SNC serves in the Shift Nurse Coordinator (SNC) office within the Nursing Department for an assigned shift for nursing employees on duty and individuals we serve at full census.

The Wage/Part-Time House Supervisor/SNC:

• Coordinates centralized nursing resources and care delivery on a shift-by-shift basis
for nursing care according to facility and nursing department’s mission, vision, values,
standards and policies, procedures.
• Ensures quality nursing care for individuals with mental illness through the
administration of medication, provision of treatments, and direct-care services on the
adult and geriatric units in a locked environment.
• Ensures mental health recovery concepts and interventions are incorporated into daily
practice for adult and geriatric populations from the pre-admission process through
discharge in relation to nursing care and responsibilities.
• Collaborates with other disciplines and departments to achieve satisfactory results for
the facility mission.
• Provides leadership in emergency codes and other situations during which facility
administration may not be present.
Assists with problem solving issues which may arise in regard to the admission, care
delivery and documentation, and discharge process for the individuals served; this
may include consultation with nursing management, administrator on call, facility
director and/or other executive team members in terms of patient, staff, visitor, or
public issues that arise during a shift with no other leadership present for immediate
action.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be a Licensed Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia or applicant status

Additional Considerations

• Experience in staffing and scheduling of nursing employees preferred.
• Excellent computer skills preferred.
