Job Duties

This position develops and delivers training and organizational services to Department of Corrections’ re-entry, programs and treatment services personnel. This position evaluates training curriculum and training needs of target audience and aligns these with agency business practices.

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge of correctional practices, policies, and treatment paradigms applicable to adult inmate populations. Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional methodologies, including effective in-person and virtual facilitation techniques. Demonstrated competence in the design, development, implementation, and delivery of training programs. Demonstrated proficiency in the use of computers and a variety of software applications to support training and administrative functions. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with diverse audiences and stakeholders.

Additional Considerations

Experience using Motivational Interviewing techniques in a clinical setting. Experience using Cognitive Behavioral and Relapse Prevention models of treatment in a clinical setting. Experience working in an adult correctional setting. Experience facilitating inmate treatment programs. Extensive knowledge of correctional practices and treatment paradigms.
Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) General Instructor Certification.
Certification and experience as a Substance Use Disorder counselor/ Service provider.
