Job Duties

The Virginia Department of Taxation seeks a Bank Services Accountant to assist with the accounting of all tax payments and the reissuance of tax refunds. The position will work with our banks and serve as a contact for agency staff. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, banking knowledge (banking products, ACH rules, and NACHA regulations), strong Excel and SQL skills, and strong analytical skills. 


This position is in our Westmoreland Office in Richmond, Virginia.

This position is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule once fully trained.

The anticipated hiring salary is commensurate with experience, up to $65,000

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge and experience with governmental accounting

Experience with revenue accounting

Knowledge and experience with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

Experience with distributing funds

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and analyzing financial data

 

Additional Considerations

 

Extensive knowledge in accounting

Knowledge or experience with SQL

Knowledge of banking products, ACH rules, and NACHA regulations
