Job Duties
- Provide administrative management of various information technology resources of the
Library in consultation and collaboration with OIT.
- Manage information technology used throughout the Library by library staff and patrons,
including PC and Mac desktops and laptops.
- Support software applications used at the Library by students and employees such as
Windows, Outlook, Office, Adobe, and Teams.
- Maintain computer peripherals like printers, copiers, scanners, and projectors that are
deployed in the Library for library staff and patron use.
- Manage communications technology, including Smart TVs, Solstice Pods, cameras, and
speakers that are available within the Library.
- Support Internet availability and access within the Library for students, employees, and
others through ethernet and wireless networks.
- Maintain information systems and technology that manage library operations such as
OCLC WMS and Bibliotheca self-check kiosks.
- Develop relationships with University offices, State agencies, and IT vendors to maintain
and enhance the Library’s IT goals, standards, and resources.
- Advise Dean of Library Services and other library staff regarding information technology
vendors, products, and services.
- Recommend policies and procedures for acquiring, developing, utilizing, maintaining,
and disposing of information technology.
- Represent the library on University shared governance committees and participate in
campus programs and events, as appropriate.
- Participate in professional groups and events related to the utilization and advancement
of information technology in libraries.
Minimum Qualifications
- A strong commitment to public service and customer service orientation.
- Ability to collaborate with others and work as a part of a team.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
Additional Considerations
- Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Library Science.
- Experience working in academic libraries or higher education institutions.
- Demonstrated experience administering a major integrated library system.
