About the Facilities Services Department:
The Facility Services team works together to provide an appealing appearance of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. We utilize skills gained through thorough training and experience to support the exhibits of artwork and education of museum patrons. We also provide support to Enterprise by setting up and taking down areas for Special Events.
Minimum Qualifications:
Working knowledge of cleaning methods and the use of cleaning chemicals and supplies.
Some knowledge of safety practices in using chemicals and cleaning equipment.
Working skills in the operation of power cleaning equipment such as wet vacuums, floor scrubbers, high-speed floor buffers and vacuum cleaners.
Ability to perform a variety of cleaning tasks, to lift and move heavy objects, to move furniture, and to set up and take down events.
Ability to give and receive instructions, and to read and write.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relations with others.
Ability to understand verbal and written instructions.
Ability to stand and walk up to 8 hours.
Ability to use hands to handle equipment, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
Ability to lift or move up to 75 pounds.

Benefits:
This is a non-benefitted position and limited to working 1,490 hours per cycle year (approximately 28 hours per week). The cycle year runs from May 1 - April 30.
