Job Duties

This position supports the effective operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system within the Virginia Department of Corrections Health Services Unit. The role is responsible for coordinating EHR-related technology resources, providing technical and administrative support to facility staff, maintaining accurate documentation and records, assisting with training initiatives, and conducting research on emerging healthcare technologies. Through these functions, the position ensures compliance with established standards, promotes operational efficiency, and enhances the delivery of healthcare services across VADOC facilities.

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge of Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.

Skill in managing records. Skill in Microsoft Office and Internet applications.

Ability to interpret policies and procedures.

Ability to interact with all levels of staff.

Ability to conduct software testing.

Skill in organization and tracking equipment. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently or collaboratively.

Additional Considerations

Skill in troubleshooting EHR-related user or system issues. Ability to assess operational and program needs within a correctional healthcare environment and recommend improvements. Skill in SharePoint.
