Job Duties
This position will manage, review, and supervise Accounts Payable (A/P) for the campus in accordance with established policies and procedures and state guidelines. To ensure that financial data is maintained and reported in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
-Working knowledge of accounting procedures (Accounts Payable, Inventory and Fund Accounting).
-Working knowledge of state and hospital procurement procedures and state and federal guidelines.
-Working knowledge of automated financial systems.
-Considerable knowledge and application of accounting and financial reporting.
-Ability to work in a complex environment with little supervision.
-Excellent mathematical, communication, verification, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
-Keen eye for detail.
-Ability to direct and supervise the works of others while managing a complex and heavy workload.
This position requires extensive sitting/keying on a computer. Sporadic retrieval of input/output documents is necessary which requires frequent standing, walking, bending and reaching. Some lifting required in handling and storage of documents.
Minimum Qualifications
-Working knowledge of accounting procedures (Accounts Payable, Inventory and Fund Accounting).
-Working knowledge of automated financial systems.
Additional Considerations
-Considerable knowledge and application of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
-Experience with Cardinal, the Commonwealth's accounting system.
-Working knowledge of state and hospital procurement procedures and state and federal guidelines.
-Strong time management and prioritization skills in a fast-paced, dead-line driven environment.
-Deep understanding and hands-on experience with Virginia's e-Procurement system (eVA).
