Job Duties
The Department of Elections promotes and supports accurate, fair, open and secure elections for the citizens of the Commonwealth. ELECT ensures the proper administration of election laws, campaign finance disclosure compliance, and voter registration processes in the state by promulgating rules, regulations, issuing instructions, and providing information to local Electoral Boards and general registrars.

The Elections & Registration Services Supervisor manages Election and Registration Services staff, regular communications with local election officials, and election administration activities. Provides project management and process analysis in the area of election administration and systems. Ensures compliance with agency and Board policies, regulations and governing laws for the administration of elections in the Commonwealth. Manages and provides support to localities for election administration processes and questions. Develops, coordinates, delivers and maintains current user documentation to ensure the uniformity, fairness, openness and legality of elections in Virginia.
Minimum Qualifications
• Experience supervising, developing, and evaluating staff.
• Demonstrated ability to evaluate and streamline processes and otherwise drive organizational efficiencies.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and managerial skills, with the ability to balance daily operations, long term projects, and compliance initiatives.
• Ability to build and support a collaborative, high performing team and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
• Working knowledge of Virginia and federal election laws, regulations, and election administration processes.
• Experience managing multiple concurrent projects involving a variety of technologies, platforms, and stakeholders.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to produce clear, accurate internal process documentation and external guidance.
• Proficiency with Microsoft products and the ability to quickly learn and apply new technology systems, tools, and data platforms.
• Strong multi tasking and time management skills.
• Ability to maintain a high-quality performance under pressure and strict deadlines.
• Commitment to teamwork and cross functional collaboration with internal staff, local election officials, and external partners.
• Ability to create and analyze data to identify strengths and weaknesses of current and proposed processes.
• Ability to travel as required.
Additional Considerations
• Experience in a local or state elections office.
• Extensive supervisory and project management experience.
