About the Position:

The Virginia State Police (VSP) is seeking to hire an Agency Management Lead Analyst in our Strategic Planning and Research Division at State Police Headquarters in North Chesterfield, Virginia. The job duties for this position include but are not limited to:

• Analyzing organizational issues and preparing comprehensive studies and reviews pertaining to all facets of Department operations.
• Investigating new and emerging trends and exploring opportunities for advancing the Department’s strategic objectives.
• Maintaining the Department's continuity plan and coordinating the annual continuity exercise, and developing, tracking, and completing after-action recommendations and tasks.

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge:

• Of research techniques and methodologies.
• Of project management.
• Of organizational management/operation principles.
• Of statistical analysis/interpretation and continuity planning.
• Of software applications.

Skills:

• In the operation of PC/mainframe applications.

Ability:

• To lead and direct the work of others.
• To analyze complex data, document strategies, and formulate alternative solutions.
• To develop and interpret policies and procedures.
• To handle multiple assignments with critical deadlines.
• To communicate effectively, both orally and in writing in English.
• Experience or training in administration of justice, public administration, or a related field.
• Progressively responsible experience in planning and project management and in analyzing organizational issues.
• Graduation from high school or equivalent.
