The DGS Office of Parking & Badging within the Division of Capital Square Services (DCSS) is looking for a Receptionist. In this role, you will provide variegated administrative support , day-to-day operations support, and greet our customers in a kind and professional manner. DCSS manages 21 parking facilities at the Seat of Government and Westmoreland, totaling over 8,000 parking spaces controlled by the Department of General Services.

Job duties include, but are not limited to: 

  • Provide excellent customer service to customers as they approach the front window.
  • Answer phones and respond to verbal and written inquiries concerning parking and badging.
  • Maintain and organize files, badges being picked up by contractors and state employees, and temporary parking hang tags.
  • Assist customers attaining badges. Delivering badges to them and assist DGS badging coordinator.
  • Upkeep badge application counts and daily lot counts from parking attendants.
  • Assist in providing temporary badges and hang tags, ensuring each person has proper identification, credentials, and paperwork for processing.
  • Collect month-to-month and daily parking fees and prepare weekly bank deposits.

Minimum Requirements

  • Experience with administrative work, including data entry and records management.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Ability to administrate forms/documents based on policy compliance.
  • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to manage time wisely and successfully handle multiple priorities and tasks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills resulting in positive, helpful, effective oral and written communications.
  • Excellent attention to detail and computational skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and in partnership with staff.
  • Strong computer skills, including experience with spreadsheets, word processors, and email.

  • Experience with parking operations.
  • Experience with building access control/security operations.
