Job Duties
Serve Virginia’s veterans, their dependents and family members by ensuring they receive the benefits, support, quality care, and recognition they have earned through their service and sacrifice. To provide high‑accuracy administrative and operational support to the Center of Excellence by coordinating time‑sensitive claim submission workflows, managing detailed documentation requirements, and ensuring compliance with all VA and agency standards. This position requires exceptional organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and consistent follow‑through to track, verify, and route information used in claims processing, system access, and agency‑wide reporting. The role serves as a central hub for communication, data accuracy, and procedural compliance across DVS offices statewide
Minimum Qualifications
Demonstrates exceptional attention to detail and accuracy when handling documents, data, and client information, ensuring compliance with established laws, regulations, and procedures related to veterans' benefits. Possesses strong organizational and time-management skills, effectively managing multiple concurrent deadlines while maintaining reliable tracking and completion of assigned work. Skilled in following complex, multi-step regulated processes with precision, verifying data integrity, identifying discrepancies, and ensuring all procedural requirements are met prior to submission through COE or VA systems. Maintains structured filing, records management, and workflow tracking systems to support efficient operations. Proficient in office practices, typing, personal computers, word processing applications, and office automation technology. Demonstrates the ability to interpret laws, regulations, and procedures; communicate effectively with staff, agency officials, and the public; and conduct interviews while accurately compiling, analyzing, and presenting information received.
Additional Considerations
A new probationary period will be required for all new Benefits employees who have not completed and currently maintain USDVA Accreditation, regardless of whether the employee has previously completed a state probationary period.
REAL ID is required for employment as a part of the federal prerequisites for USDVA Accreditation.
This role requires a high level of accuracy and organizational discipline due to its responsibility for VA system access coordination, and compliance‑driven documentation management.
