Job Duties

This position will provide administrative, logistical, and business support services to the Executive Director and Board Administrators for the Board of Barber, Cosmetology, Hearing Aid Specialists, and Opticians. The successful candidate will coordinate Board-related functions and serve as the primary point of contact for board members, attorneys, other intra-agency divisions, government officials, and the general public.

Minimum Qualifications

• Knowledge of regulatory boards.
• Knowledge of business procedures, office procedures, and office equipment and its proper usage.
• Ability to maintain discretion when handling confidential and sensitive matters.
• Ability to perform a wide variety of moderate to complex program and administrative support duties.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to coordinate, procure, and obtain necessary equipment, facilities, materials, and services needed to accomplish the board's business operations in compliance with applicable requirements.
• Ability to compose clear, concise, and grammatically correct documents.
• Ability to read and apply regulations and statutes.
• Proficiency in the use of computer software applications.
• Effective time management.
• Strong oral communication skills.
• Ability to pay close attention to detail and provide accurate information and guidance.
• Ability to research and gather facts, analyze findings, reach logical conclusions, and recommend solutions.
• Ability to independently identify and prioritize problems and make recommendations for improvements.

Additional Considerations

• Experience in a regulatory environment preferred.

• Experience preparing and amending electronic documents preferred.

• Knowledge of the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) preferred.
