About the Opportunity
Crater Health District is seeking an experienced and dedicated professional to join our team as a Nurse Manager Senior. This is an impactful leadership role supporting our mission to build healthy, resilient communities and provide high‑quality public health services.

Position Overview
The Nurse Manager Senior oversees a comprehensive district nursing program, typically through the supervision of Registered Nurse Managers I. Key responsibilities include:

- Managing district nursing operations, including FTE oversight and budget management
- Leading long‑term staff development and training initiatives
- Building and maintaining private and public partnerships
- Procuring, administering, and managing grants and external funding sources
- Conducting community needs assessments
- Allocating resources and ensuring high‑quality service delivery
- Recruiting, coaching, and supervising nursing staff
- Serving as a member of the district management team

VDH requires all Health-Care Personnel (HCP) to provide documentation of immunization or evidence of immunity to the following: hepatitis B, measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella; a one-time dose of tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis (Tdap) vaccine regardless of the interval since the last dose of tetanus-diphtheria (Td) vaccine was administered (Td or Tdap boosters shall be received every 10 years); and the current year's seasonal influenza vaccination. "Health Care Personnel" are required to maintain timely compliance with all Employee Health requirements, including but not limited to HCP-required immunizations, health screenings, respiratory protections, and relevant trainings, as mandated by organizational policy and applicable regulatory standards.

Minimum Qualifications

• Requires licensure as a RN by state code
• Extensive knowledge of nursing management, public health nursing, and practices of public health
• Proven ability to provide effective leadership and operations management; ability to direct subordinate nurse managers and supervisors in achieving agency objectives
• Excellent skills in oral and written communication, community assessment, planning, and staff development
• Considerable ability to collaboratively lead staff, synthesize and interpret data, and communicate effectively with staff, patients, and the public; ability to monitor and evaluate quality assurance of nursing programs; ability to present results and nursing outcomes to internal and external constituencies
• Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR certification is required

Additional Considerations

• Nursing and senior-level administrative and supervisory experience in public health

• Experience with the Incident Command System (ICS)
